Leadership and governance

Effective governance — as enacted through the Board, through Senate, and through university administration — is critical for �¼��ϲʿ��ֱ�� to advance our mission and our shared priorities.

Our leadership

�ٲ��ǳܲ��’s president and vice-chancellor (president) is the chief executive officer, responsible to the Board of Governors and to the Senate for the supervision of �¼��ϲʿ��ֱ��’s administrative and academic work. The president works with the senior administration team to provide leadership to the university.

Governing bodies

�¼��ϲʿ��ֱ�� operates under a bicameral governance structure, which means it has two governing bodies:

The Board of Governors responsible for overall management of the university, with particular responsibility for property, revenues, and finance.

The Senate, an academic governing body responsible for overseeing the academic and research activities of the university.

Academic integrity

The university Senate is responsible for setting academic regulations and expects all students to be responsible learners who acknowledge sources of information and ideas when they are not their own, among other things.
