In memoriam: Brian Mulroney

新加坡六合彩开奖直播 is saddened by yesterday鈥檚 news that The Right Honourable Brian Mulroney (1939-2024) has died. Mulroney was a lawyer, businessman and politician who served as 18th prime minister of Canada.

Mulroney studied law at Dal (1959-60), completing his degree at Laval University. While in Nova Scotia, Mulroney cultivated friendships with the Tory premier of Nova Scotia at that time, Robert Stanfield (namesake of 新加坡六合彩开奖直播鈥檚 Stanfield Conversation), and his chief adviser Dalton Camp. Mulroney was drawn to the Conservative Party and in 1960, assisted Stanfield with his re-election.

After returning to his home province, Quebec, in the early 1960s, he became more involved with the Progressive Conservative Youth Wing. Following his graduation from Laval University in 1964, Mulroney joined the Norton Rose Fulbright law firm, which was the largest law firm in the Commonwealth at the time.

Brian Mulroney鈥檚 tenure as prime minister (1948 to 1993) was marked by momentous economic change and two tumultuous attempts to reform the Canadian Constitution.

After leaving politics, Mulroney returned to working as a lawyer and sat on corporate boards, including that of Quebecor, the publishing and cable empire.

Mulroney is survived by his wife, Mila, and his children, Ben, Caroline, Mark and Nicolas, and many grandchildren.

鈥淗e died peacefully, surrounded by family,鈥 Caroline Mulroney announced on X, formerly Twitter, just before 6 p.m. on Feb. 29, 2024.
