​The Department of Chemistry at мÓÆÂÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±Ö±²¥ invites applications from qualified DFA members for a 6-month Instructor, 80% FTE.
Appointment begins July 1, 2021.
Duties: The primary responsibilities of this position are instructing the laboratory sections in the organic chemistry laboratory program.
This position reports to the Dean of the Faculty of Science through the Chair of the Department of Chemistry.
The position requires a PhD degree in Chemistry, with a specialization in organic chemistry, and experience with laboratory and lecture teaching in organic chemistry at the university level. The successful candidate will be qualified to provide extensive support for the 2nd year organic chemistry labs for CHEM2401, and to be the primary laboratory instructor at the 3rd year level for CHEM3404. Knowledge of and experience with the instruments in NMR3 is an asset. Experience with the 2nd year organic chemistry curriculum at мÓÆÂÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±Ö±²¥ is also an asset. Evidence of professional development for university level teaching, such as the мÓÆÂÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±Ö±²¥Â Certificate in University Teaching and Learning, is also an asset.
