WORK ASSIGNMENT: Ð¼ÓÆÂÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±Ö±²¥'s SEASIDE program offers intensive summer courses in Biology and Marine Biology with some courses cross listed with Earth Sciences, Environmental Studies, and Oceanography. The SEASIDE Manager will work with the Undergraduate Curriculum Committee and the department Chair to select and schedule the course offerings, develop course budgets and auxiliary fee schedules. The Manager will work with the department Chair to recruit and select course instructors. The Manager will coordinate and make arrangements for course requirements including access to appropriate teaching/lab facilities, equipment and supplies, travel arrangements, and access to offsite locations for field trips. While the SEASIDE courses are underway the Manager oversees the operation of the program, approves expenses and monitors the budgets, and responds to issues as they arise. The Manager also acts as a resource providing policy and procedure guidance for the instructors. The position reports to the Chair of the Department.
REQUIREMENTS OF POSITION:  The applicants will have an advanced degree in biology. Previous experience managing a large dynamic field education program, and recent teaching experience (classroom and or laboratory) in the related discipline would be a definite asset. First time applicants must provide the names of two referees.
