Probationary Instructor Position
The School of Nursing, мÓÆÂÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±Ö±²¥, is seeking an outstanding academic for a full-time, Probationary Instructor in the Clinical Learning & Simulation Centre. The appointment will be effectiveÌýJuly1, 2019.The position is subject to final budgetary approval.ÌýÌý
A Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing is required, Master of Nursing or a Masters in a related field is preferred. Recent clinical and teaching experience with a minimum of two years clinical experience and two years clinical practice teaching are required. The ability to work effectively in a self-directed manner and as a team member; organizational abilities, proficiency using office software applications is essential. Experience with or education in clinical simulation is an asset. Eligibility for registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Nova Scotia is a requirement.
The Probationary Instructor is responsible for demonstrating skills, including health assessment to students with faculty consultation; assemblingÌýClinical Learning & Simulation Centreequipment and material for student practice and testing environments; assisting faculty with practice exams; acting as a resource person for independent student practice; and utilizing computer-based methods of organizing and runningÌýClinical Learning & Simulation CentreÌýsystems. Responsibilities are for theÌýClinical Learning & Simulation CentreÌýsystems located in the Forrest and Collaborative Health Education Buildings, School of Nursing, мÓÆÂÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±Ö±²¥.

Probationary Instructor Appointment
мÓÆÂÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±Ö±²¥ School of Nursing is seeking outstanding academics for two full-time, Probationary Instructor positions.Ìý The anticipated start date for the positions is July 1, 2019.Ìý All appointments are subject to final budgetary approval.
At the time of appointment, the successful candidates must a hold a minimum of a Master’s degree in a health related discipline, and have demonstrated a commitment to developing excellence in their teaching and practice. Self-directedness and the ability to work collaboratively in a team teaching environment is essential. Preference will be given to those with a PhD in a health related discipline.
The primary responsibilities of the successful candidates will include teaching of undergraduate and/or graduate students, and contributing to service of the School.Ìý Of particular interest are candidates with expertise in either acute medicine and surgery, geriatrics, health informatics or oncology. As well, a background in some combination of leadership, knowledge mobilization, diversity and inclusiveness in healthcare, interprofessional education and distance and context-based learning, and/or clinical simulation learning would be assets.
If Masters or PhD prepared in Nursing, applicants must be eligible for registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Nova Scotia.

Probationary Tenure-Track Appointments
мÓÆÂÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±Ö±²¥ School of Nursing is undergoing an exciting and transformative period in its development and is seeking three full-time probationary tenure-track appointments effective July 1, 2019. These positions are subject to final budgetary approval.
Situated in the Faculty of Health, the School of Nursing offers programs leading to a Bachelor of Science in Nursing with multiple streams; a Master of Nursing in variety of specialties including nurse practitioner; and a PhD (Nursing) focusing on the impact of nursing practices on health outcomes for individuals, families, communities and/or populations.
At the time of appointment, successful candidates will have completed a research-based doctoral degree in a health-related discipline, have a record of external funding and research publications, and have demonstrated a commitment to developing excellence in their teaching, research and practice. Candidates will be expected to develop and maintain a rigorous externally funded research program.
The primary responsibilities of the successful candidate will include teaching and supervision of undergraduate and graduate students, maintaining a vibrant program of research and publication, and contributing to academic/collegial life of the School and University and to the broader community. Of particular interest are candidates with expertise in either adult, senior care or mental health, together with quantitative research methods and/or translational research. As well, a background in some combination of leadership, knowledge mobilization, diversity and inclusiveness in healthcare. Interprofessional education and simulation-based education would be considered strong assets; distance and context-based learning, would be considered as added assets.
Eligibility for registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Nova Scotia is a requirement.

Limited Term Appointment at the Rank of Lecturer or Assistant Professor
мÓÆÂÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±Ö±²¥ School of Nursing is seeking outstanding scholars for two full-time, two-year, Limited Term positions at the rank of Lecturer or Assistant Professor.Ìý The anticipated start dates for the positions are:Ìý first position with a start date January 1, 2019; and second position with a start date July 1, 2019. All appointments are subject to final budgetary approval.
At the time of appointment, successful candidates must hold a Nurse Practitioner license and at minimum a Master’s degree in Nursing. Competitive applicants will have demonstrated a commitment to excellence in their practice; interest in teaching in the MN-NP program; articulate the NP role, person centered care, how interprofessional teams function effectively; the ability to introduce evidence-based research into practice areas and; skill in assessing and recognizing population health trends. Preference will be given to those with a Doctorate degree in a health-related discipline.
The primary responsibilities of the successful candidate will include teaching graduate students and contributing to service of the School.Ìý The School is looking for a practicing Nurse Practitioner currently holding, or eligible for a university faculty appointment to educate and prepare nurses for advanced practice as Nurse Practitioners. The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate recent evidence of NP clinical practice, preferably with a focus in Family of All Ages and Primary Health Care and, be eligible for registration as a NP with the College of Registered Nurses of Nova Scotia. A background in some combination of leadership, knowledge mobilization, diversity and inclusiveness in healthcare, interprofessional education and distance and context-based learning, and/or clinical simulation would be assets.
