Limited Term Position

Academic life in a vibrant, small city on Canada’s East Coast            

Applications are invited for one Limited Term Position (1.0 FTE) at the Instructor level in the School of Occupational Therapy starting September 1, 2018 (pending budgetary approval). This is an academic position that encompasses teaching and administration. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. This is a fixed term position of 10 months with no expectation for renewal.

This instructor must hold an entry-to-practice qualification in occupational therapy. Eligibility for licensure with the College of Occupational Therapists of Nova Scotia is essential. It is highly desirable that applicants have a minimum of five years of relevant experience in the supervision of occupational therapy fieldwork students; familiarity with occupational therapy education and accreditation requirements; experience as a tutor or clinical instructor; be dedicated to excellence and innovation in curriculum delivery; and be willing to establish/maintain involvement in scholarly/professional activities. Applicants should be available to commence work September 1, 2018.

The position requires a licensed occupational therapist with practice experience in enabling occupational performance and familiarity with the entry-to-practice curriculum, experience in teaching, and tutoring or supervision of students. Applicants should have excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, effective oral and written communication skills, leadership skills and the ability to take initiative, be flexible and work independently. This position reports to the Director, School of Occupational Therapy.
