Co-Lecturer for NURS2740.06 Nursing and Family Health (Fall term of the academic year 2018-2019)

Nurses combine knowledge from primary health care and public health, social and nursing sciences, recognizing the uniqueness and diversity in family systems to support transitions that occur across the life course. Understanding health promotion, protection and prevention of illness in the context of family development is the focus.
This is a 6-credit hour course taught by two co-lecturers. Lectures are held twice-weekly on Wednesdays from 1435 - 1725 and Thursdays from 10:05 – 12:55 and include tutorials held on Mondays from 12:35 – 13:25. The final exam will be held during the week of November 26, 2018.
This appointment runs from September 1, 2018 through Nov. 30, 2018. The part-time academic instructor reports directly to the Associate Director, Undergraduate Studies.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Development of teaching and learning activities related to course-specific topic
- Co-teach course content
- Assessment and evaluation of student learning
- Use of Brightspace for course delivery
- Respond to student queries about coursework in collaboration with the other Co-Course Professor
- Attend initial instruction with Instructional Learning Online services re: Brightspace
- Participate in semester 4 course discussions within the program
- Develop and administer examinations
- Submission of grades
- Follow up with students as necessary
QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE: Candidates must hold a graduate degree in Nursing, or related field, with a strong background in primary health care, public health and family systems nursing across the lifespan. Prior teaching experience an asset.Ìý PhD preferred.
