Part Time Academic Posting ‑ Spanish & Latin American Studies

POSITION: Part-Time Academic
DEPARTMENT/LOCATION: Department of Spanish & Latin American Studies
PAY RATE: As per CUPE Collective Agreement
COURSE INFORMATION: SPAN 3408/INTD 3408: The Cuban Development Model
Fall Term 2018 (September 1, 2018 – December 31, 2018)
Currently Scheduled: TR 14:35-15:55

WORK ASSIGNMENT: The Part-Time Academic will be responsible for all aspects of teaching and administering the class, including admission, lectures, test preparation, evaluation, and electronic submission of grades. Three class hours per week, plus hold weekly office hours. The Part-Time Academic reports to the Chair of the Department.

REQUIREMENTS OF POSITION: Applicants must possess a PhD degree in a related discipline and a background in International Development Studies. The ideal candidate will have teaching experience at the University level, preferably on Cuban topics. Field research experience and first-hand knowledge of Cuba is required.
