Position: Sessional Instructor
Department: School of Public Administration (Bachelor of Management Program)
Pay Rate: In accordance with the CUPE collective agreement
Winter Term: January 2018 – April 2018 - Tuesday and Thursday 1905 – 2025
Work Assignment:
MGMT 3802 – Public Policy
The Sessional Instructor will be responsible for a half credit course in the area of Public Policy offered to undergraduate students in the Bachelor of Management program. The Instructor will be responsible for all aspects of the teaching and administration of the class and be available for two hours per week outside class times for student consultations. The candidate reports to the Director of the School.
Requirement of Position:
A Masters Degree in Public Administration, Political Science or a related field in conjunction with one year’s experience at the executive level within government in the past 5 years is required. Preference will be given to applicants holding a PhD or candidacy in public administration or a relevant field. Previous university-level teaching is an asset. Demonstrated teaching effectiveness in Public Policy is required.

Class – Monday 2:35 pm – 5:25 pm
Tutorial – Thursday 2:35 pm – 5:25 pm

The Instructor will be responsible for all aspects of the teaching and administration of the class and be available for two hours per week outside class times for student consultations. The candidate reports to the Director of the School.
Requirement of Position:
A Masters Degree in a related field and recent or current experience at the executive level within government departments is required with experience in Strategic Financial Management. A preference will be given to candidates who hold a Ph.D. in the area of Public Administration. Previous university-level teaching at the Master’s level is required as is demonstrated teaching effectiveness at the Master’s level. Demonstrated teaching effectiveness in Strategic Financial Management is required. An accounting designation is an asset.
