WORK ASSIGNMENT
To teach one section of CRWR 2001.03, The Creative Process in the fall term of the 2017-2018 academic year. The proposed teaching schedule is Tuesday/Thursday 1605-1725. This is a large interdisciplinary class that focuses on creativity in a wide variety of artistic and other areas of thought and expression, such as writing, painting, music, acting/directing, dancing, mathematics, medicine, and advertising. CRWR 2001.03 is a core course for students planning on completing a combined major or honours program in creative writing. The part-time academic will be responsible for all aspects of teaching and administering the class, including the evaluation of student work. The part-time academic should also be available for two hours per week for consultation with students. The part-time academic reports to the Chair of the Department.

QUALIFICATIONS
Applicants should be currently working in the arts community, and should have had some experience teaching in a creative field at the post-secondary level. Preference will be given to applicants holding an MA or MFA degree.

WORK ASSIGNMENT
To co-teach one section of ENGL/CRWR 1030.06, Reading and Writing Stories, in the fall term of the 2017-2018 academic year. The proposed teaching schedule is Tuesday/Thursday 14:35-16:25 with tutorials scheduled at various times on Wednesdays and Fridays. Teaching assistant support will be provided. This interdisciplinary course in Creative Writing and English has four broad but connected objectives:

• to introduce students to the study of fiction, poetry, and creative non-fiction;
• to introduce students to the creation of fiction, poetry, and creative non-fiction;
• to develop students’ literacy skills so that they will be more critical and responsive readers;
• to help students refine their skills as effective and imaginative writers.

The part-time academic will be responsible for teaching the creative writing elements of the course in consultation with a faculty member from the English Department. The part-time academic and the English Department faculty member will jointly be responsible for all aspects of teaching and administering the class. Each instructor will be responsible for 3 hours of instruction weekly and the evaluation of student work. The part-time academic should also be available for two hours per week for consultation with students. The part-time academic reports to the Chair of the Department.
