COURSE INFORMATION: German 3000: Advanced German
1 Section – Fall & Winter Terms 2016-2017 (September 1, 2016 – April 30, 2017)
Currently Scheduled: MWF 11:35-12:25
WORK ASSIGNMENT: The Part-Time Academic will be required to cover oral practice, translation techniques, detailed comprehension of texts and the finer points of grammar in English and German. The Part-Time Academic will also be responsible for all aspects of teaching and administering the class, including admission, lectures, test preparation, evaluation, supervising tutorial leaders, and electronic submission of grades. Three class hours per week, plus hold weekly office hours.
REQUIREMENTS OF POSITION: Applicants should have native or near-native fluency in English and German and possess a graduate degree or other academic and/or professional qualifications deemed suitable for teaching the class. Previous German language teaching experience at the post-secondary level would be an asset.

Fall Term 2016 (September 1, 2016 – December 31, 2016)

WORK ASSIGNMENT: The class will be conducted in English, with references to the original German text and film. The Part-Time Academic will be responsible for all aspects of teaching and administering the class, including admission, lectures, test preparation, evaluation, and electronic submission of grades. Three class hours per week, plus hold weekly office hours.
REQUIREMENTS OF POSITION: Applicants must possess a graduate degree (minimum of an MA) in a related discipline. Previous teaching experience at the post-secondary level would be an asset.

Fall & Winter Term 2016 - 2017 (September 1, 2016 – April 30, 2017)
Currently Scheduled: M 12:35-15:25
WORK ASSIGNMENT: This course is for two distinct student groups: undergraduate students with intermediate comprehension skills in German, and graduate students with advanced or near-native fluency in German. The course is held in German, and is primarily focused on literary analysis. The Part-Time Academic will be responsible for all aspects of teaching and administering the class, including admission, lectures, test preparation, evaluation, and electronic submission of grades. Three class hours per week, plus hold weekly office hours.
REQUIREMENTS OF POSITION: Applicants should have native or near-native fluency in English and German, must possess a PhD degree, and have experience teaching at the post-secondary level.
