Interested in finding out more about how you can access research funding from the USA鈥檚 National Institutes of Health (NIH), the world鈥檚 largest source of medical research funding?

International Research & Development in 新加坡六合彩开奖直播 Research Services is pleased to present a series of information sessions on obtaining and managing research funding from the NIH. Our guest speaker for the day is Ms. Krista Montgomery, the Research Funding Manger (US & International Agencies) for the Research Office at the University of Toronto.

INFORMATION SESSIONS:

10 am 鈥 noon: 鈥淚ntroduction to NIH鈥
Room 2L3, Tupper Building / 218 DMNB (via videoconference)
During this session, attendees will be provided with an overview of NIH, including funding opportunities, funding mechanisms, application requirements, submission processes and review criteria. This session is aimed at researchers with limited knowledge of NIH, as well as support staff.

12.30 鈥 1.30 pm: 鈥淎dministrative Staff and NIH鈥
DRS Boardroom, Suite 231, Henry Hicks Building
Administrative staff who support researchers are invited to this informal lunch & learn session, to discuss administrative issues and requirements which impact NIH applications and projects. Please RSVP to irdadmin@dal.ca, for catering purposes.

3.00 鈥 4.30 pm: 鈥淣IH After Peer Review 鈥 What鈥檚 Next?鈥
Room G36, Tupper Building / 218 DMNB (via videoconference)
This session will pick up where the morning鈥檚 鈥淚ntroduction to NIH鈥 session left off. During this session, attendees will be provided with an overview of NIH鈥檚 processes following the completion of peer review, including summary reports, just-in-time requirements, award documents, reporting and other post-award compliance requirements. This session is aimed at researchers with limited knowledge of NIH, as well as support staff.

ABOUT OUR SPEAKER:

Krista Montgomery is the Research Funding Manger, US & International Agencies, for the Research Office at the University of Toronto (UofT). She and her team are responsible for the coordinating of applications to and the management of grant funding from US & international funding sources. She and her team currently coordinate over 50 projects, of which the prime funder is the National Institutes of Health (NIH). Prior to her time at the UofT, she was the Grant Officer for the University Health Network (UHN), a network of UofT affiliate hospitals. Among foreign institutions, both UofT and UHN have been ranked in the top ten based on the number of grants awarded by NIH. She attended the NIH Regional Seminar in 2010 and the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases Grant Policy and Contracts Management Training held in Toronto, Canada, in 2009. More recently, she has spoken about NIH鈥檚 granting process and compliance requirements at the Canadian Associ! ation of Research Administrators National Conference and through a webinar offered by the Society of Research Administrators.聽
