Instructor, Limited-term
The Integrated Science Program in the Faculty of Science at мÓÆÂÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±Ö±²¥ invites applications for a 22-month, limited-term appointment at the rank of Instructor, to commence September 1, 2015, or as soon as possible thereafter. The appointment will be filled either as one position at 100% full-time or two positions at 50% full time.

This position is devoted to instructing in the Integrated Science Program. Primary duties include: the coordination and delivery of Biology and integrated lectures and first-year laboratories in Biology; supervising first-year research projects; coordination and delivery of the writing in science component; and other activities related to program development and overall coordination of the program.
The instructor will work in collaboration with other Integrated Science faculty to place instruction of first-year science into a broad context and integrate the development of scientific skills within the program. The position reports to the Director of the Integrated Science Program. The salary is determined by the DFA Collective Agreement, 2015-18, depending on qualifications and experience.
The position requires a Ph.D. in Biology or a related field, with teaching and/or research experience in several of the following areas: cell biology, microbiology, molecular biology, animal biology, ecology, marine biology, or conservation biology. The successful candidate will have a proven record of excellence in teaching undergraduate students, outstanding supervision and mentoring skills, excellent organizational skills, proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Learning Management Systems, and a strong interest in integrated approaches to teaching science. Previous experience teaching in an integrated science program will be considered an asset.
