1)ÌýÌý IELTS Preparation CourseÌýÌý Ìý

Register today for the IELTS Preparation Course. The upcoming six-week course starts on April 22nd and will be help every Wednesday and Thursday (5-7pm).

Course Description:

This course is designed to help you prepare for the Academic Module of the IELTS examination.Ìý You will work on the four language skill areas (Reading, Writing, Listening and Speaking) as well as study vocabulary and certain aspects of grammar.

Each class will focus on one of the four areas of the IELTS examination (Reading, Writing, Listening and Speaking).Ìý You will have an opportunity to work with authentic IELTS material, as well as take a practice test (reading and listening modules) under examination conditions.Ìý In addition, access during class hours to a computer lab for speaking practice is available.

A textbook is provided as part of the course fee. There is no grade assigned for this course. A certificate of completion will be available upon request for those who attend all classes.

Course Goals:
You will:

- develop all four language skills areas (Reading, Writing, Listening and Speaking)
- learn how to complete various question types for each of the four testing areas
- learn how to describe data found in graphs, charts and diagrams
- learn how to organize speaking and writing tests
- practice all four sections of the IELTS test

Level: You must have a minimum English level of low-intermediate (IELTS 4.0 or мÓÆÂÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±Ö±²¥'s Foundations course or equivalent) or above to take this course.

2) ESL Speaking and Pronunciation for Graduate Students (Spring 2015)

Registration for the Spring Speaking and Pronunciation for Graduate Students Course has begun. The course runs on Mondays from May 4 – June 15 (4-6pm).

In this 12-hour non-credit course you will focus on improving the speaking and pronunciation skills needed for graduate study. Through interactive activities and exercises, lab time and instructor feedback, you will develop all aspects of academic speaking. Among topics covered will be the skills of speaking about academic research, presenting, and facilitating in-class discussion in English. The course will also include elements of pronunciation at the word, phrase and sentence level. The course will be capped at 15 students. Undergraduate students and students from other universities will be admitted with permission from the instructor. Tuition fee: $90

Note: This is a course, not a drop-in workshop series. Registration is required. .

3) ESL Writing for Graduate Students (Spring 2015)

Registration for the next ESL Writing for Graduate Students course has begun. The course runs on Tuesdays from May 5 – June 9 (4-6pm).

In this 12-hour non-credit course you will focus on improving the written communication skills needed for graduate study. Through interactive activities and exercises, lab time and instructor feedback, you will develop your academic writing. Advanced grammar, sentence structure, vocabulary use and strategies for genre awareness will be among topics covered. The course will be capped at 15 students. Undergraduate students and students from other universities will be admitted with permission from the instructor. Tuition fee: $90
