DEPARTMENT/LOCATION: School of Social Work

PAY RATE: As per Collective Agreement

WORK ASSIGNMENT: The part-time academic will be responsible for teaching SLWK 6341.03 鈥淐ritical Perspectives on Social Work Practice Interventions鈥 by Distance Education. The class will be offered in the Winter session, January to April 2015.

Distance courses are taught in an online learning management system known as Blackboard for distance delivery throughout Canada. Distance courses require on-line availability for consultation with students. Responsibilities include all aspects of teaching and administering the class, including lectures, test preparation, and evaluation of tests and reports. The part-time academic should expect to be engaged in course preparations for one-two months preceding course delivery. REQUIREMENTS OF POSITION: Educational background in social work with extensive experience in social work (or related fields) is required. The successful incumbent is required to have solid knowledge of a variety of social work skills and the ability to impart these skills to students. A Master of Social Work degree, or higher, and previous teaching experience is preferred.
