Work Assignment: This Part-Time Academic will be required to direct the мÓÆÂÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±Ö±²¥ Symphony Orchestra from September 1, 2014 to April 30, 2015.Ìý Weekly 3-hour rehearsals are held on Tuesday evenings, normally resulting in one or more public performances each term including: 1. Fall term – orchestra only; 2. Winter term – Concerto Night (learning and rehearsing 10-13 movements and a new student composition); 3. Winter term – potentially also a concert with the мÓÆÂÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±Ö±²¥ Chorus.Ìý Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, organization of the membership, concert planning and preparation, overseeing the maintenance of the orchestra library, and distribution of student evaluation forms.Ìý The orchestra conductor must be available to consult with the directors of the мÓÆÂÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±Ö±²¥ Wind Ensemble and мÓÆÂÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±Ö±²¥ Jazz Ensemble regarding ensemble auditions and optimal placement of students.Ìý He/she must also coordinate with the Associate Director of Productions and the productions administrator regarding selection of concert repertoire within the context of developing the School’s multi-year plan.Ìý This position reports to the Director of the Fountain School of Performing Arts.

Requirements of Position:Ìý minimum Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Music, with significant training and successful professional experience as an orchestral or instrumental conductor; excellent organizational and communication skills; computer literacy.

Work Assignment:Ìý This Part-Time Academic will be fully responsible for the teaching and grading of several sections of MUSC 2271.03X/Y, Keyboard Skills II, from September 1, 2014 to April 30, 2015.Ìý Each section is one hour long, twice weekly.Ìý The instructor is responsible for the organization of enrolment in various sections.Ìý The instructor must implement approved curriculum in this area and in all aspects of the classes work collaboratively with other keyboard skills instructors and full-time faculty.Ìý The instructor is required to provide a Method of Assessment and course outline and to announce end of term student ratings/evaluations of instruction.Ìý This position reports to the Director of the Fountain School of Performing Arts.

Requirements of Position: minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree or its equivalent in Music, with special training and/or significant experience in the teaching of keyboard harmony; the ability to teach group sessions; computer literacy.

Work Assignment:Ìý This Part-Time Academic is required to teach one half-credit class: Voice Clinic for the Theatre II (MUSC 1081.03) during the winter term, January 1 to April 30, 2015.Ìý This class is offered exclusively to students in the third year of the Acting Program.Ìý This position will take responsibility for the teaching and grading of this class.Ìý Duties will include teaching 1.5 hours/week of ensemble singing and coaching bi-weekly half-hour individual tutorials for each student in the class.Ìý This position reports to the Director of the Fountain School of Performing Arts.

Requirements of Position: a minimum of a BA or BMus or its equivalent in Vocal Performance and/or Pedagogy; appropriate professional experience; proven successful experience of teaching the basic principles of group singing as applicable to the actors' ensemble; a strong knowledge of varied repertoire for choral/ensemble instruction.Ìý Knowledge of the Musical Theatre repertoire would be an asset when coaching the individual tutorial sessions.Ìý Keyboard facility and computer literacy are essential.
