Instructor Positions Available

Applications are invited for two full-time (1.0 FTE) Instructor positions. These appointments are Three-Year Limited Term positions in the School of Social Work, Faculty of Health Professions. The anticipated start date is July 1, 2014.

The School of Social Work offers both Bachelor and Master of Social Work degree programs delivered on campus at мÓÆÂÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±Ö±²¥ in Halifax, Nova Scotia and by distance delivery to students across Canada via the Internet. Both the BSW and MSW programs are guided by the School’s mission to create a socially just society. They are concerned with issues of poverty, inequality, and social and political marginality, and seek to develop practitioners and scholars who are critical thinkers and are effective in advancing progressive change, whether through individual or community practice, or through policy and political engagement. Duties/Responsibilities:
This is a teaching position, and the successful candidate will be expected to teach BSW and/or MSW courses, both on site in Halifax and online by distance delivery. The incumbent in this position will be asked to teach core courses or electives as needed. Relevant committee and administrative work is also required.

Qualifications:
Applicants must hold a BSW or MSW degree, and a PhD (or enrolled in a PhD program) in Social Work or a related discipline.
