The Department of Political Science at мÓÆÂÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±Ö±²¥ invites applications for a 50% limited term position at the Lecturer/Assistant Professor level, effective 1 August 2014. The position will be tenable for a ten-month term in each of two years (from 1 August 2014 to 31 May 2015, and from 1 August 2015 to 31 May 2016).The appointment will be in Canadian politics and political theory. Areas of specialization may include: Canadian and contemporary political thought, political institutions, constitutionalism and public policy. The successful candidate may be asked to teach undergraduate classes on introductory politics and Canadian politics as well as upper level seminars on specialized topics on political thought and public policy.

The candidate must have a Ph.D. or nearly completed Ph.D. The candidate should have a record of excellence in teaching at the undergraduate level and a promising record of scholarship in her or his field of research. This position is subject to budgetary approval.

Applications must include a complete curriculum vitae, a statement of research and teaching interests and philosophies, sample publications and a teaching dossier, including course evaluations, as well as three confidential letters of reference forwarded directly by the referees. The successful candidate may be expected to teach undergraduate classes on introductory politics, international relations and foreign policy as well as upper level seminars on international conflict and peace-building, human rights in international relations, and/or Canadian and Comparative Foreign Policies.
