Presenting their research at the conference was an important opportunity to communicate their research findings to the lobster fishing industry. Congratulations to Alexandre Samson, who won first place in the judged student competition with his research poster 鈥淎bundance and Prevalence of the Intestinal Parasite Polymorphus botulus in American Lobsters (Homerus americanus) in Nova Scotia.鈥 Congratulations as well to Elizabeth Baker for winning third place in the judged student competition with her poster 鈥淏acterial surveys of haemolymph of the American Lobster (Homerus americanus) in Eastern Nova Scotia鈥.
Alexandre and Elizabeth took 2/3 top prizes despite the fact that they were competing against MSc and PhD students. Congratulations Alex and Elizabeth!
