POSITION: Part-Time Academic

DEPARTMENT/LOCATION: School of Social Work

PAY RATE: As per Collective Agreement

WORK ASSIGNMENTS- The part-time academic will be responsible for teaching:

1) SLWK 3245.03 "Queer-Centered Social Work Practice" on Campus. The class will be taught over two weekends between May and June 2014.

2) SLWK 4033.09 "BSW Field Placement (Block)" on Campus. The class will be offered from April 7th to August 22nd 2014.

The part-time academic will be responsible for all aspects of teaching and administering the class, including lectures, test preparation, and evaluation of tests and reports. The part-time academic should expect to be engaged in employment for one month preceding course delivery for course preparations. REQUIREMENTS OF POSITION: Educational background in social work with extensive experience in social work (or related fields) is required. The successful incumbent is required to have solid knowledge of a variety of social work skills and the ability to impart these skills to students. A Master of Social Work degree, or higher, and previous teaching experience is preferred.
