The School of Health Sciences is now accepting applications for the following MARKER position:

POSITION:ÌýÌý Marker for HSCE 1000.03 - Foundations of Health Care Practice
ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý Fall 2013 – Section 01. Approximately 45 hours.

PAY RATE:Ìý The pay rate for all positions is in accordance with CUPE Collective Agreement.

HSCE1000 is designed to provide learners with the opportunity to develop and enhance their critical reading, writing, and thinking skills, against the backdrop of topics and issues relevant to contemporary practice and study in the health sciences (diagnostic cytology, diagnostic medical ultrasound, nuclear medicine technology, radiological technology, and respiratory therapy). Specifically, students will learn about evidence-based decision making, health and its determinants, the funding and delivery of health care in Canada, professionalism, communication, teamwork, and diversity. Particular emphasis will be placed on realizing and appreciating the unique role of each of the five health professions of the School of Health Sciences within the Canadian healthcare system. A self-directed study module in medical terminology is also a component of the course curriculum.
