WORK ASSIGNMENT:Ìý INTD 1100X/Y.06/CANA 1100X/Y.06 This course offers an introduction to both International Development Studies and Canadian Studies by exploring the connections between important global issues and your daily life as a student in Halifax. The part-time academic is responsible for co-teaching and co-managing this course with a faculty member from the Department of International Development Studies (IDS) and in addition is to be available for two hours per week outside of class times for student consultation. The class is offered from September to April on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 12:35 to 13:25. The part-time academic reports to the Chair of International Development Studies and the Coordinator of the Canadian Studies program.

REQUIREMENTS OF POSITION: Ph.D. in a humanities discipline or interdisciplinary humanities program with a focus on cultural production and social justice.Ìý Research and teaching experience in Canadian Studies/International Development Studies or closely related fields.Ìý Deep knowledge of Halifax and ability to incorporate critical analysis of cultural production and social justice issues in Halifax into the course.Ìý Knowledge of and/or involvement in cultural production in Halifax is an asset. Previous teaching experience in large lecture settings preferred.
