POSITIONS: Sessional Instructor: Principles of Animal Physiology Part 1/Physiology of Marine Animals, Part I, (Biology 3078/Marine Biology 3074); September 1, to December 31, 2013.

DEPARTMENT/LOCATION: Biology

PAY RATE: $4,565.50-$5,583.00

WORK ASSIGNMENT: The sessional instructor is responsible for lectures, assisting students on an individual basis; general administration of the class (handling student issues, submitting grades, etc.); invigilating tests and examinations. The positions report to the Chair of the Department.

REQUIREMENTS OF POSITION: All applicants for this position will have an advanced degree in biology. Previous, recent teaching experience (classroom and or laboratory) in the related discipline would be a definite asset. First time applicants must provide the names of two referees.

WORK ASSIGNMENT: In consultation with the class coordinator, the sessional laboratory instructor(s) will be responsible for the development and teaching of the laboratory component of the course; coordinate class TA’s and technicians; general administration (handling student issues, supervising TA’s, submitting grades, invigilating exam and tests, etc.). The positions report to the Chair of the Department.
