EATING DISORDERS GROUP
Tuesdays 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm
The Eating Disorders Group is an on-going group which continues until the end of the academic year. The Group is for students who are experiencing difficulties with eating in the form of severe restrictions or anorexia nervosa, binging with or without purging or bulimia, and compulsive overeating. The focus of the group is to provide a safe setting, support self-defined change, and resolve underlying feelings.

Living With Loss: A Grief Support Group
Wednesdays, 3:30 pm - 4:30 pm
This group is appropriate for students who have experienced a significant loss. Most commonly, that would be the death of a loved one, but could also include the break-up of a significant relationship or major loss. The group will involve mainly discussions, with some individual activities. Various topics will be covered throughout the year.
This is a drop-in group. Students can attend as many sessions as they need. We recommend that you call our office (494-2081) each Wednesday to confirm that the group is taking place.

SLEEP and RELAXATION WORKSHOP
This two-hour workshop will include tips on how to fall asleep faster and feel more refreshed during the day. Participants will also learn relaxation techniques, including deep breathing, progressive muscle relation, and visualization.

Gaining Social Confidence

The Gaining Social Confidence Group is for students who experience anxiety when interacting with others and would like to feel more comfortable and confident in social situations. Some of the topics covered are: understanding symptoms of anxiety, managing anxiety and strategies for increasing confidence in social interactions. Treatment approaches include: cognitive-behavioural strategies and relaxation skills.
The group will meet weekly for 6 weeks on Wednesdays, from 1:30 pm - 3:00 pm, starting January 23rd, 2013 and running through February 27th, 2013.

MANAGING ANXIETY GROUP
The Managing Anxiety Group is for students who would like to understand and manage their anxiety. Some of the topics to be covered are: understanding symptoms of anxiety and managing physical discomfort, anxious/worrisome thoughts and troublesome behaviours. Treatment approaches include: cognitive-behavioural strategies, relaxation skills, and a mindfulness approach to managing symptoms.
The group will meet weekly for 6 weeks on Thursdays from 10:30am - 12:00pm, starting January 24th, 2013 and running through March 7th, 2013.
