It is with great pleasure that we write to let you know of the upcoming Metro Universities Relay for Life, to be held at the мÓÆÂÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±Ö±²¥ Dalplex on March 8th, 2013.
Relay for Life, is an overnight, non-competitive relay that honours and celebrates cancer survivors, commemorates those who have lost their lives to the disease, and offers communities the opportunity to take up the fight against cancer. It is a twelve hour event full of heart-touching ceremonies, fitness activities, live local entertainment, and much more! We welcome Cia (Cia's Body Works) in conducting the warm up activities before lapping of the track begins.
This past March, the University community united in the fight against cancer and had incredible results. Exceeding our every expectation and surpassing all our goals, the Metro Universities Relay for Life raised over $55,000 for cancer research and community support programs, more than doubling our funds of $22,000 in 2010. Students and staff from мÓÆÂÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±Ö±²¥, St. Mary’s, Mount Saint Vincent University and Nova Scotia Community College, will once again come together for this important event.
As a cancer survivor you inspire hope in the fight against cancer and prove cancer can be beaten. Whether you are 1 year old or 99 years old? Has it been 1 day or 50 years cancer free? We invite you to join us to celebrate success in your battle against cancer. Celebrate With fellow survivors and community members in the Metro Universities Relay for Life 2013. This is an inspiring event to raise awareness and funds for the Canadian Cancer Society for local community programs and cancer research. Together we can make a difference!
We invite all survivors, and those who are currently living with cancer to join us for the Survivor Reception and to walk the first lap? The Victory Lap of the Canadian Cancer Society’s Metro Universities Relay For Life to give hope and inspiration to those who are still battling cancer and to everyone who has been touched in some way by this terrible disease. Our hope is to have a strong presence from each campus, with teams made up of students, alumni, faculty and staff. Come out and celebrate for a night full of fun with great cause.
