Application Deadline:  September 1, 2012
Position:  Part-Time Academic
Department/Location:  School of Business Administration
Pay Rate:  $4565.50 (In accordance with CUPE Collective Agreement)

Work Assignment:

A Part-Time Academic is needed to teach the following course from September - December 2012.

Starting Lean - A Pilot Offering

This course provides real world, hands-on learning on what it's like to actually start a scalable company or enterprise.  This class is not about how to write a business plan.  It's not an exercise on how smart you are in a classroom, or how well you use the research library to size markets.  And the end result is not a PowerPoint slide deck for a VC presentation.  This is a practical class - essentially a lab, not a theory or "book" class.  Our goal, with the constraints of a classroom and a limited amount of time, is to create an entrepreneurial experience for you with all of the pressures and demands of the real world in an early stage start up.

Requirements:

1.  completed the Lean LaunchPad Educators Program
2.  a PhD in a related discipline,
3.  an understanding of management and entrepreneurship,
4.  significant teaching experience
5.  Consulting experience would also be an asset.
6.  The successful candidate must also be able to meet the School's accrediting body (AACSB) academic qualification requirements or professional qualification requirements.

Duties included, but are not limited to:

The Part-Time Academic will be responsible for all aspects of teaching and administering the class, including lectures, test preparation and evaluation.  He/she will teach at the undergraduate level, supervise students and contribute to the academic life of the School.  Evidence of research activity will be an asset. The Part-Time Academic should be available for two hours per week for consultation with students.  The Part-Time Academic reports to the Director of the Department.

Please apply in writing by the above deadline to:
