мÓÆÂÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±Ö±²¥ is filled with exceptional people deeply committed to inspiring students on their educational journey and making a lasting impact on the world.
They conduct pioneering research, impart knowledge in the classroom, keep the university running smoothly, and support students when they need it the most, fostering a diverse, purpose-driven community that spans 13 faculties and conducts more than $150 million in research each year.
Next week, the university hosts its second annual мÓÆÂÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±Ö±²¥ Legacy Awards ceremony to recognize and celebrate some of these outstanding individuals for their contributions to making the Dal community great.
“The Legacy Awards ceremony was created to bring us together as a community to say a special thank you to our faculty and staff," says Jasmine Walsh, assistant vice-president of Human Resources at Dal. "The awards are given to employees who have been identified this year as going above and beyond in their work and the community."
Walsh encouraged members of the Dal community to come out to the awards event to cheer on colleagues and get inspired.
“It’s really amazing to reflect and celebrate the incredible work that our faculty and staff are doing every day on our campuses. Without our people we don’t achieve our goals. It’s an honour to thank them for all that they do," says Walsh.
The ceremony covers a number of university-wide awards across a range of areas selected for their alignment with the university’s strategic priorities. This year, the President’s Award for the Advancement of Equity, Diversity and Inclusiveness (EDI) has been expanded to include both an individual recipient and a group category.
The 2019 Legacy Awards will be held on Wednesday, June 19 from 4-5 p.m. in the Rebecca Cohn Auditorium in the мÓÆÂÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±Ö±²¥ Arts Centre, with a reception to follow. All мÓÆÂÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±Ö±²¥ faculty and staff are invited to attend. Please .
