On Sunday, the Sea-Hawks put up a huge 34 point quarter as they upset the Tigers 83-80. Down 83-80 with just seconds left, Jarred Reid had a chance to tie it with a three but he couldn't convert as the Sea-Hawks held on to win.

The Tigers will look to regroup after the tough loss on Tuesday when they host the Acadia Axemen in a pivotal four-point game.

Women's Basketball

The women's basketball team also split their two-game series against the Sea-Hawks this weekend as they slipped into a three-way tie for second place in the AUS.

On Saturday, the Tigers held a slim one-point lead going into the fourth quarter but it was the Sea-Hawks who ended up coming out on top, winning 66-65 over the Tigers. Courtney Thompson had a team-high 21 points in the heart-breaking loss for the Tigers, while Tessa Stammberger added 11 points, eight rebounds and five assists.

On Sunday, the Tigers got their revenge as they defeated the Sea-Hawks 69-62. Thompson followed up her stellar performance on Saturday with a 23 point effort on 9-13 shooting, while Kristy Moore chipped in with 14 points.

The Tigers have now won five of their last seven games as they head into the second half of the season. They'll be back on the court on Tuesday when they host the Acadia Axewomen in a big four-point game.Ìý Tip-off is at 6:00pm.

Men's Hockey

After a 3-1 loss to the StFX X-Men on Tuesday, the Tigers had a rough weekend as they were outscored by 17-5 in two blowout losses at home.

In Tuesday’s game, the Tigers were first on the scoreboard after Ban MacAskill scored his second of the year on the power play in the first period. It was all StFX after that, as the X-Men scored three unanswered goals to take the win. Wendell Vye made 45 saves for the Tigers.

On Friday, the Tigers again struck first but they were overwhelmed by the first-place UNB Varsity Reds falling 7-2. Matt English and Luke Madill each added a goal for the Tigers, who were outshot 46-20.

The Tigers looked to regroup the next day in their last home game of the season when they faced the University of Moncton Aigles Bleus. Colton Parsons scored early as the Tigers gained an early advantage, but Moncton piled five goals on the Tigers in the first period, mounting a 5-1 lead early on. Parsons would add another in the second and Fabian Walsh scored his team-leading tenth goal in the second period, but they just couldn't contain the Aigles Bleus as they fell 10-3 in their biggest loss of the season.

The Tigers will look to put the tough losses behind them when they get back on the ice on Friday when they face the University of Moncton in a rematch on the road. Puck drop is at 7:00pm.

Women's Hockey

Both of the Tigers games went into overtime as they split a pair of games on the road this weekend. On Saturday, Courtney Sheedy opened the scoring for the Tigers in the second period but the Aigles Bleues answered back just minutes later. After neither team could find the back of the net in the third period, they headed to overtime. It didn't take long to decide the game, however, as Moncton scored just 38 seconds into overtime to defeat the Tigers 2-1.

Sheedy opened the scoring again on Sunday against the St. Thomas Tommies in the first period, and Marita Alfieri added another late as the Tigers gained a 2-1 advantage after the first period of play. The Tommies tied it up in the second, and again neither team scored in the third period as they headed to overtime.

It was the Tigers who ended up coming out on top this time, as Alfieri added her second goal of the game to give the Tigers a big 3-2 overtime victory. They'll look to win back-to-back games for just the second time this season when they take on the UPEI Panthers in Charlottetown on Friday at 7:30pm.
