The apples have been eaten, the donations have been collected and the Deans' Challenge winner has been decided.
That’s good news to Dean of Dentistry Tom Boran: he’ll be pleased to know that he doesn’t have to pack up the United Way turtle trophy anytime soon.
The Faculty of Dentistry has successfully defended its title in yet again, bringing home top fundraising honours through a series of events such as the dean’s hot lunch cook off, raffles and bake sales.
Our analysts in Financial Services did note that this year was particularly close, though, with the Faculty of Management nipping at Dentistry’s heels.

United Way co-chairs Donna Bourne-Tyson and Michael Conrad, as well as Marilyn Roberts, deserve special recognition for their leadership and dedication to this year’s campaign.
*The Deans' Challenge winner is based on a mathematical formula that calculates participation rate: the number of donors within a department [relative to the number of employees within said department] as well as portion rate: how much of the overall university donations can be attributed to the department.Â
