Over the weekend the Tigers soccer teams hit the road to play their last two away games of the season. It was back-to-back games at home for the women’s hockey team this weekend as they coped with offensive difficulties. In their home opener at the Metro Centre on Saturday, Dal took on UdeM where they held their ground and forced a close game after a power play goal in the third. Sunday’s match up against STU at the Halifax Forum proved to be a greater challenge as the Tigers penalty minutes made the game an uphill battle.

Women’s Basketball
DAL 76 @ Concordia 80; DAL 65 @ Carleton 68; DAL 74 @ Laurier 78

Carleton University hosted the Metro-Glebe Tournament this past weekend as the Tigers travelled to Ottawa to compete. Playing in three games, Dal went head-to-head with each of their opponents, making every match a nail biter for the crowd. Despite falling short in their second pre-season tournament, the women’s basketball team has shown tremendous potential and will be well prepared for their home opener November 9.

Swimming

Dal’s swim team participated in their first meet at the Aubrey Legere Invitational in Fredericton this past weekend. A strong start to the season saw the Tigers claim both the men’s and women’s team titles, as well as first place in the combined team score. Stand out swimmers included Molly Wedge, Rachel Shin, David Sharpe, and Kyle Watson.
