Congratulations to the School of Architecture upon taking first place in The Chronicle Herald Holiday Parade of Lights held November 19 with their glowing lanterns float (inspired by Christmas tree bulbs). 听

Congratulations to Sam Lock (student, M.Arch) upon being awarded the 2011 Catherine Lalonde Memorial Scholarship for Wood Related Research. This $2,500 scholarship, given out by the Canadian Wood Council, is awarded to a graduate student in engineering, architecture, wood science or forestry who demonstrates excellence in their studies of structural wood or wood design.

Faculty of Health Professions


Congratulations to Audrey Prayal-Brown (student, MSc Kinesiology) who recently won gold and silver at the 2011 Commonwealth Lifesaving Championships in Durban, South Africa. Ms. Prayal-Brown won a gold medal in the Line Throw competition and a silver medal and set a Canadian record with her team in the Mannequin Carry Relay.听 (Supervisor: John Kozey)

Congratulations to Jerry Singleton (Health & Human Performance) upon his induction into the Academy of Leisure Sciences. The Academy of Leisure Sciences is an honorary society composed of eminent scientists who have made outstanding and distinctive contributions to the leisure, park and recreation sciences.

Congratulations to the 新加坡六合彩开奖直播 Faculty of Management Corporate Residency MBA program upon being recognized for its innovative approach to business education at the MBA Roundtable Innovator Awards held recently in Seattle. Dal鈥檚 program was one of five finalists selected from across North America, and the only Canadian school selected as a finalist.

Congratulations to Ashwin Kutty (School of Business) upon receiving the Next Generation Leadership Award, provincial category, from the Government Technology Exhibition and Conference (GTEC) 2011, for his knowledge in health informatics and ability to bring together stakeholders, and work to manage patient flow in a multi-site, multi-service Academic Health Centre.

Congratulations to Jill Chorney (Anesthesiology and Psychology) upon being awarded the Emerging Professional Award at the 2011 Discovery Awards, which recognizes post-secondary science and technology students, graduate students, post-doctoral fellows or practicing professionals 35 years of age or under who live and study in Nova Scotia. The recipient of the award demonstrates intellectual achievement, excellence and the potential for ongoing growth and development.
