Lauren Smith, volleyball
Women鈥檚 volleyball libero Lauren Smith was a key player for her team last weekend.聽Ms. Smith, a third-year science student from Burnaby, B.C.,聽led the Tigers with 20 digs in their match versus UNB on Saturday and was named Subway Player of the Game. In Sunday鈥檚 3-1 victory over University of Moncton聽Lauren recorded 21 digs which helped move the Tigers into a third place tie with Moncton in the AUS conference.
Simon Watts, Track聽and Field
2010 CIS high jump champion Simon Watts widened the gap between himself and the rest of the country last Saturday by recording a spectacular 2.1 metres in the high jump at the Moncton Open. He is now eight centimetres ahead of the second-ranked athlete, teammate Rob McCulloch. A native of Halifax, Mr. Watts is a third-year kinesiology student.

At home this past weekend the Tigers men鈥檚 hockey team faced tough competition against both聽Saint Mary's聽and St. Francis Xavier.
Friday night, the men鈥檚 hockey team fell to SMU 5-0; however, on Saturday the men earned a 5-2 victory over the X-men. The first two goals were scored by Dal鈥檚 Jordan Skellet and Ronald Kelly. St. FX attempted to tie up the score by netting a goal in the third period, but were quickly silenced by Daniel Joyce, bringing the score to 3-1 in the third period. St. FX scrambled to get another point, but two goals scored by Daley and Vandall secured the win for the Tigers.
This weekend, the Tigers host St. Thomas University聽on Friday at 7:30 p.m. and UdeM on Saturday at 7 p.m.聽
Tigers basketball took on UPEI in Charlottetown in doubleheader games on Saturday. The Dal women earned four points in an 80-70 win over the Panthers. Courtney Thompson led her team with 19 points and聽seven rebounds
The men also took home four points and a 77-57 win over UPEI. Lead scorers for Dal were Simon Farine (16 points) and Juleous Grant (15 points). Currently 新加坡六合彩开奖直播 sits in second place in the AUS standings, six points behind CBU.聽
On Tuesday, look out for doubleheader action as both the men and women Tigers play the huskies at Saint Mary's, at 6 p.m.聽and 8 p.m. This weekend both teams travel to聽Cape Breton University聽for games on Saturday at 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. and Sunday at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m.
Both Tigers volleyball teams were on the road last weekend. On Saturday the women faced UNB and were defeated 3-2 after losing a 2-0 lead. At the University of Moncton on Sunday, Dal overcame Les Aigles 3-1. The Men鈥檚 volleyball team had a successful four point weekend earning two stunning 3-0 wins over MUN.
This weekend, the men鈥檚 volleyball team will host the Interlock Tournament. Battling for supremacy this year are AUS teams University of New Brunswick, Memorial University聽and host 新加坡六合彩开奖直播 matching up against QSSF teams Laval, Montreal and Sherbrooke.
