Pssst! Wanna have a food fight? Duck! There鈥檚 a box of spaghetti headed your way. Veer right! Watch out for that can of minestrone!
A student group called Repair Our World, aka ROW, is behind 新加坡六合彩开奖直播鈥檚 efforts to help Feed Nova Scotia meet its 200,000 kilogram goal of collected food and beat out food banks in Regina and Victoria.
ROW has set up drop-off boxes for nonperishable food items in the Student Union Building, the Killam atrium, A&A building at King鈥檚, Coburg Coffee House and Starbucks at Robie and Spring Garden Road.
鈥淐鈥檓on out and donate some food,鈥 says ROW鈥檚 Rachel Max. 鈥淚t doesn鈥檛 take a lot but together we can make a big difference.鈥
You鈥檝e got until Thursday, Oct. 14 to bring in your canned goods. All the food collected at Dal will go to support Feed Nova Scotia in the 2010 Coast-to-Coast Food Fight.
ROW is a service-oriented volunteer group, an offshoot of the Jewish Students Association. With 75 students on its mailing list, the idea behind ROW is that you can volunteer as much or as little as you like, depending on your time and availability, explains Ms. Max, a third-year history student who started ROW with Alyza Weinberg. who graduated last spring.
鈥淲ith ROW, you can be involved as you want to be,鈥 explains Ms. Max, from Toronto. Other projects include selling candygrams in aid of LOVE (Leave聽Out Violence) and help run an information clinic for Canadian Blood Services.聽鈥淲e set up opportunities for people who want to help, but you don鈥檛 have to commit every week. It really allows students to do what they can, when they can.鈥
And now they鈥檙e asking for everyone鈥檚 help. 鈥淵ou can do something good because this is a fight where everyone鈥檚 going to win.鈥
