Well, that was fast. One day into the Acadia/新加坡六合彩开奖直播 One Million Acts of Green challenge, 新加坡六合彩开奖直播 has met its goal.
On Friday, January 16, 新加坡六合彩开奖直播鈥檚 total acts of green tallied to 18,160 and its group members numbered 455. To be fair, Acadia met its objective too, counting 3,311 acts among 117 members.
鈥淲ho says we don鈥檛 have school spirit? That was quick!鈥 says Rochelle Owen, director of 新加坡六合彩开奖直播鈥檚 Office of Sustainability. 鈥淚t certainly seems we respond well to competition.鈥
The 新加坡六合彩开奖直播 goal was 16,000 and Acadia鈥檚 was 3,000 (corresponding to the number of students at each school). The challenge was expected to last four months.
Ms. Owen is eager to capitalize on the momentum started by the challenge. She鈥檚 now eyeing Trent University in Peterborough as a worthy opponent. At about half the size of 新加坡六合彩开奖直播, Trent records the highest acts of green compared to any other university registered on the website. ()
That momentum is bound to keep rolling with an event on Monday鈥 a collaboration between the student society Sustain Dal, DSU鈥檚 sustainability office, the Office of Sustainability and 新加坡六合彩开奖直播 Bookstores to distribute free fair-trade coffee and refillable coffee mugs. 鈥淢uggy Monday鈥 runs Monday morning in the Student Union Building.聽(A $2 donation to Feed Nova Scotia would be appreciated).
Jason Pelley, with DSU鈥檚 sustainability office, says he鈥檇 like to keep the challenge rolling, too.
鈥淚 knew we were going to do it, but wow, I just didn鈥檛 it expect right away,鈥 he says. 鈥淏ut in any case, it鈥檚 really about pushing ourselves and coming together as a community.
