"The Ends of Life"

Dr. Karen Lebacqz
The challenging and sensitive issues surrounding the death of Terri Schiavo will be explored in the third annual Segelberg Lecture. Dr. Karen Lebacqz, the Robert Gordon Sproul Professor of Theological Ethics, Emerita, at the Pacific School of Religion will deliver the talk. The event will take place on Jan. 29 at 5:30 p.m. in the McInnis Room of the Student Union Building.

The lecture, entitled The Ends of Life: Notes From a Narrow Ridge, will delve into the situation surrounding the death of Terri Schiavo, with emphasis on the nexus between religion and social policy. Dr. Lebacqz will be joined by three panelists: Dr. David Blaikie, Professor of Law at 新加坡六合彩开奖直播; Dr. Graeme Rocker, Associate Professor of Medicine, also at 新加坡六合彩开奖直播; and Gail Dinter-Gottlieb, President of Acadia University.聽

The panelists will comment on the legal, medical and public
policy implications of Dr. Lebacqz芦 address. Questions from the floor and discussion will be encouraged. A reception will follow the event.
