At the School for Resource and Environmental Studies (SRES), we offer a breadth of classes, research opportunities and internships that are designed to help you make a difference in the world.

No matter where you are in your educational journey, you will develop your knowledge of natural resource management and environmental studies. You鈥檒l also get to learn from and work side-by-side with professors whose expertise is sought after around the world from industry, government and NGOs.

Master of Environmental Studies Program (MES)

This two-year program will give you the opportunity to create and share knowledge that will generate positive change in the world. You鈥檒l choose a pressing issue related to resources, environment or human wellbeing and the environment, and focus research and a thesis around your discoveries. The program鈥檚 balance of courses and peer interaction allows you to explore a broad range of issues.

Master of Resource and Environmental Management (MREM)

The MREM is a 16-month course-based program that鈥檚 designed to provide you with the skills and knowledge you need to pursue a career in natural resource and environmental management. With a curriculum that combines coursework, an internship and a project report, you鈥檒l build a well-rounded combination of knowledge and experience that will serve you well in your future career.

Interdisciplinary PhD

Previous dissertations have included topics such as how humans value and perceive urban forests will be affected by climate change, and addressing the environmental challenges associated with livestock production globally.
