Courses Offered

The Environmental Science major is an interdisciplinary program focused on understanding the science of our environment and solving major environmental issues. including the current Climate Crisis. Environmental Science takes a systems approach to help students develop the knowledge necessary to respond to challenges arising from interactions between human activities and natural systems. Students receive practical training to apply tools and techniques from several disciplines, leading to an interdisciplinary approach. In the first two years, the ENVS curriculum emphasizes basic science in a rigorous curriculum drawn from a variety of departments, including biology, physics (energy), earth science, biology, chemistry, mathematics and statistics, and economics. In upper year courses, students take environmental science and additional science courses as well as electives in their area of interest, with courses that include statistics and analytics, research methodology, GIS, problem solving, and law. Field schools in second and third years, as well as internship and co-operative education opportunities, provide students with the experience and support they need to prepare for environmental science careers or graduate and professional.

*Note: Not all courses may be offered every year. Some courses not show here may have been retired. For current courses, please consult the Timetable and the Academic Calendar.聽
