Andrew Peacock Memorial Award
Eligibility
- 2nd or 3rd year Commerce or Management student
- Must be in good standing (CGPA 2.00 or higher)
- Must have a demonstrated interest and understanding of the issues related to persons with disabilities, and have demonstrated volunteerism and experience (or interest in) working in the not-for-profit sector

Dr. Andrew Peacock came to мÓÆÂÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±Ö±²¥ in 1982. During his career he was involved in the areas of Human Resource Management, Business Strategy and Information Technology. He pioneered the use of a student presentation seminar for the MBA courses in Human Resource Management. In 1984 he was a founding member of the Courseware Development Project. This project brought in over $3 million in private donor funding that included putting a PC on every professor's desk and wiring them together. This project earned the School of Business the reputation as "Canada's Most Technologically Advanced Business School."
Andy, as known by his friends and colleagues, contributed to the local IT sector in several ways. He took sabbatical from мÓÆÂÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±Ö±²¥ to work with Digital Electronic Company in Massachusetts, returning to Halifax to teach and develop or co-develop new courses in MIS at the MBA level. He took leave from Dal to help a Halifax-based high tech start-up company and worked as CEO of BDI (Business Development Inc.), a company owned by мÓÆÂÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±Ö±²¥, the Province of Nova Scotia, and a consortium in Scotland.
Returning to мÓÆÂÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±Ö±²¥, his final years were devoted to teaching in the undergraduate strategy area. Students selected him as undergraduate professor of the year in 1997.
BComm Class of 1997 Scholarship
Eligibility
- 2nd, 3rd, or 4th year Commerce student
- Demonstrate high academic standing
- Demonstrate leadership, which may be through, but not limited to, community involvement, athletics, governance, or other extra-curricular activities
- Self-identify as member(s) of one or more historically under-represented population(s)

The Christopher S.F. McKee Award of Merit
Eligibility
- 2nd or 3rd year Bachelor of Commerce student
- Achieved at least a B average (CGPA of 3.0 or higher)
- Made a significant contribution to the university as an organizer or as a participant in university or community activities

мÓÆÂÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±Ö±²¥
Christopher McKee was born in Halifax in 1959. The majority of his schooling was in that city. He attended мÓÆÂÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±Ö±²¥ from 1977 to 1981 and received his Bachelor of Commerce in 1981. While at University he was active in water polo, life guarding, Red Cross small craft safety, and sailing. He worked for Clarkson Gordon on graduation, receiving a chartered accountant designation. He became a Manager in the firm then called Ernst and Young. He later became Chief Financial Officer for Budget Car &Truck Rental, Maritimes, and then Chief Financial Officer for Larsens Packers Limited of Berwick, Nova Scotia. He was stricken with a brain tumor in 1995 and died in 1996 at the age of thirty-six.

Eligibility

- Be enrolled in the Bachelor of Commerce Co-op program
- Be in good academic standing
- Have made a significant contribution to the DCS, the Commerce program, and the greater мÓÆÂÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±Ö±²¥ Community
- Have shown initiative through DCS events and fundraisers

The мÓÆÂÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±Ö±²¥ Commerce Society (DCS) represents the interests of over 1,200 full-time undergraduate Commerce Co-op students. The goal of the organization is to build a sense of community among all мÓÆÂÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±Ö±²¥ Commerce undergraduates, and serve as a link between students, faculty, the business community, and business schools across Canada. Through the DCS Scholarship, we are looking to show our support annually for the exceptional leadership demonstrated by one or more students in the Commerce Program within the Faculty of Management.

- Demonstrates good academic achievement

At Dash Hudson, we care about making data-backed decisions, helping customers, and fostering growth in our company and communities. We created this scholarship to support the student community in their pursuit of education. Learning is a continuous process, and we understand the importance, challenges, and opportunities that post-secondary education gives individuals. We hope that the Dash Hudson Scholarship will help BIPOC students further their education without the strain that finances create for Nova Scotia students.
ExxonMobil Canada Ltd Scholarship
Eligibility
- Enrolled full-time in Bachelor of Commerce, Bachelor of Management, MBA (Corporate Residency pathway) or Master of Science in Business program.
- Demonstrate high academic achievement
- Preference given to students who self-identify as being a member of an underrepresented population.

Richard & Constance Glube Entrepreneurship Fellowship Fund Award
Eligibility
- 3rd or 4th year Bachelor of Commerce or Management student
- Academic standing (GPA of 3.0 or greater)
- Major in Entrepreneurship & Innovation / Entrepreneurship
- Experience working in an entrepreneurial setting OR successful completion of an entrepreneurial work term
- Involvement in ENACTUS would be considered an asset

мÓÆÂÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±Ö±²¥
Richard Glube began his 20-year teaching career as a professor in the School of Business in 1969. His teaching areas were Business Policy and New Venture Creation. In preparation for the New Venture Creation course students remember him best for the "Blue Sky" paper, a comprehensive analysis and implementation plan for a new venture, what we now refer to consistently as a Business Plan. During his tenure at мÓÆÂÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±Ö±²¥, Richard obtained his PhD from the Cranfield Institute of Technology, England, winning the gold medal in 1978.
Prior to commencing his teaching career at мÓÆÂÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±Ö±²¥ Richard was in retail business for 20 years. After retiring from мÓÆÂÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±Ö±²¥ in 1989, Richard commenced a new career. He took courses to become a machinist so he could work at his hobby of building live steam engines. He built two before his untimely death in 1997.
Sagewood Group Award for Entrepreneurship
Eligibility
- Be actively enrolled in either the Bachelor of Management or Bachelor of Commerce Co-op program;
- Be considered at least 3rd year standing within your program;
- Be majoring in Entrepreneurship (BComm) or Entrepreneurship & Innovation (BMgmt) (preferred but not mandatory)
Selection will be based on the assessed viability of the student’s proposed business, as well as demonstration of commitment, passion and ability to execute.

This award was established in 1987 to encourage Entrepreneurship within the Faculty of Management’s undergraduate student cohort. 
Sir Graham Day Undergraduate Scholarship
Eligibility
- Bachelor of Commerce or Management student
- Canadian citizen or landed immigrant (first preference will be given to students from Atlantic Canada)
- Be in good academic standing
- Desire to pursue a career in Family Business, Transportation and/or Business Government Relations
- Preference will be given to students who can demonstrate financial need

These Scholarships have been established, in part, as a means by which to recognize and celebrate the values held and exhibited through a lifetime of achievement by Sir Graham Day, as well as to encourage both undergraduate and graduate students to participate in course work and related work-terms or internships with a focus on family business, transportation, or business-government relations.

Frank H. Sobey Awards for Excellence in Business Studies

Applications must be submitted online through the . Several documents are required as part of the application process, such as multiple letters of reference, a headshot/photo, and possibly a 90-second video. Be sure to read over the application requirements carefully, give yourself sufficient time to prepare, and ensure you have all the necessary documents before beginning to complete the form. 
To send your letters of reference directly to the Dean, please send them by email to UAO@dal.ca. Award winners  are usually announced in March.
About
This fund was established in honour of the late Frank H. Sobey. It is intended to support the development and recognition of excellence in studies, research and service to the business community by students and faculty in Business Programs at мÓÆÂÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±Ö±²¥.
