Lakeview Trail Hike with the Dal Law Hiking Society

The Dal Law Hiking Society invites you to their last group hike of the fall semester at Lakeview Trail.

The trail is an easy-to-moderate 3.5km loop with stunning views of Long Lake and Witherod Lake.

There will be two groups, one for hiking and one for trail running.

Horace E. Read Memorial Lecture: Searching for the Truth with Former Justice Louise Arbour

�¼��ϲʿ��ֱ�� the Lecture: The Read Lecture series was inaugurated in 1975 to honour the memory of the late Horace E Read, OC, QC, who was Dean of �¼��ϲʿ��ֱ�� Law School from 1950 until 1964, in recognition of his contribution to legal education and legal scholarship.

Dr. Read's areas of interest were broad: law reform, legislation and the legislative process, conflict of law, labour law and legal education, and this is well reflected in the diversity of the lectures.

�¼��ϲʿ��ֱ�� the Topic: Is a criminal trial a search for the truth? How do we navigate between the trial process and our day-to-day life in that elusive search?

�¼��ϲʿ��ֱ�� the Speaker: The Honourable Louise Arbour has had a long and distinguished career in international affairs. She is a senior counsel with the firm Borden Ladner Gervais (BLG), providing strategic advice on litigation, governance and international disputes, and mentoring younger lawyers.

Arbour is also a retired justice of the Supreme Court of Canada and the Court of Appeal for Ontario. She previously served as the United Nations high commissioner for human rights, chief prosecutor of the International Criminal Tribunals for the former Yugoslavia and Rwanda, and United Nations secretary general’s special representative for international migration.

Christmas Cards for Northwood Residents

The �¼��ϲʿ��ֱ�� Mature Law Students' Association (DMLSA) and the �¼��ϲʿ��ֱ�� Christian Legal Fellowship (DCLF) have partnered to support the annual Jack 92.9FM Christmas Card and Giving Tree Campaign for the Northwood Foundation.

Drop by the tables in the lobby to sign and decorate Christmas cards with messages of hope and joy to give to the residents of Northwood senior care and retirement living homes in HRM.

Donations will also be accepted and will be used for the Giving Tree.
