Gail Tomblin Murphy

Dr. Gail Tomblin Murphy completed her PhD in 2004 at the University of Toronto, Faculty of Nursing and holds the rank of Professor in the School of Nursing, 新加坡六合彩开奖直播.

World Health Organization (WHO)
In 2008, Dr. Tomblin Murphy was successful in obtaining the designation as a WHO/PAHO Collaborating Centre for her team鈥檚 work on HRH, and in 2012, was successful in being re- designated for another 4 years.

She has been a consultant for the World Health Organization and the Pan American Health Organization for the past eight years. She leads national and international research teams consisting of clinicians, health care leaders, senior policy-makers, and researchers from government, universities and health care organizations.

The Centre鈥檚 mandate is to build capacity in needs-based health human resources planning, within Canada and internationally. As Director, Dr. Tomblin Murphy oversees the operation of the Centre including all related research projects and other associated work. International research on needs-based health systems and HRH planning are currently being conducted in Brazil, Jamaica and Zambia with future projects planned in these and other Pan-American countries and Africa.

Leadership in professional associations
Dr. Tomblin Murphy has developed expertise in heath policy, and has made significant contributions to nursing through leadership in professional associations and research and teaching activities. Her current research focus is on health systems and human resources for health (HRH) planning and research, particularly needs- based approaches.
