Stephanie Williams is the first person in her immediate family to attend university. After graduating from Dal in 2020 with a BScN, Williams accepted a position at the Garron Centre for Child and Adolescent Mental Health while also working in withdrawal management in Lunenberg and Dartmouth.

After an extensive educational career at мÓÆÂÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±Ö±²¥, nurse scientist Keisha Jefferies (BScN’13, MN’17, Ph.D. Nursing’22) is back on campus — but this time at the start of her career as a professor. In addition to her assistant professorship, Dr. Jefferies was also recently named one of мÓÆÂÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±Ö±²¥â€™s inaugural University Research Chairs – Emerging Scholar for her critical research focused on population health and equity and inclusivity in nursing. The Emerging Scholar Research Chair targets “early career academics who have demonstrated research excellence and the potential for international recognition in the next five to ten years."

PhD in Nursing student Maddie Gallant, RN BScN, is honoured, grateful and excited to receive a 2023 Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarship. Awarded to doctoral students at Canadian institutions who display academic excellence, research potential, and leadership, the Vanier grants recipients $50,000 per year over a three-year period.
