This past weekend participants from the Nutrition and Feeding course, within the High-Performance Herd Certificate, gathered on campus for their in-person, hands on, component.Ìý
Ten students (including one virtual student), joined Jeff Walker as they toured Meadow Land Farms in Shubie, NS to learn more about nutrition and feeding dairy cows on their farm that was followed up by presentations and discussions in the classroom.Ìý
The students were from various locations across of Nova Scotia, including one virtual NB student, who all share the same passion for increasing their knowledge within various aspects of the dairy industry.Ìý
The final piece of this course will be for the students to identify and start to implement what/how they would like to improve nutrition and feeding on their farms.
The next course in the certificate is Dairy Cow Care that begins October 2021 and will be taught by Dr. Shawn McKenna.Ìý For more information on this Ìý
