The Viola Desmond Legacy Lecture was born out of мÓÆÂÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±Ö±²¥â€™s 200th anniversary and we are thrilled to finally be putting on our second lecture in the series.
Though we are virtual this year, our outstanding speaker Michèle Audette promises to make the event absolutely unforgettable.

A little about our speaker:
Michèle Audette has made outstanding contributions to Indigenous women’s rights in Canada.ÌýShe served as Associate Deputy Minister for the Status of Women in Québec and President of the Native Women’s Association of Canada. In 2016, she was appointed Commissioner for the National Inquiry into Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls (MMIWG).
She continues to advocate for change in provincial and federal policies to address discrimination, violence against Indigenous women and social inequalities.
