мÓÆÂÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±Ö±²¥ invites applications from qualified highly-motivated candidates for a full-time, one-year term postdoctoral position in Cancer Cell Biology

Responsibilities:ÌýThe postdoctoral fellow will be conducting an industry-involved Mitacs-funded research project on preliminary assessment of natural products in the prevention and treatment of cancer using multiple experimental model systems using cultured mammalian cells. Investigations will also be extended to understand the potential mechanisms that involved regulation of cellular redox homeostasis healthy cells and induction of apoptosis in cancer cells.

Qualifications:ÌýThe successful candidate should have a Ph.D. in cell biology, biochemistry, or related discipline within the last five years. He/she should have demonstrated prior experience in working with cell cultures, western blots, and immunohistochemistry-based assays. Also, experience with natural product chemistry and statistical analysis will be an asset.

Location:Ìý The primary location of the research will be at the Department of Plant, Food, and Environmental Sciences at the Faculty of Agriculture (Agricultural Campus, Truro, Nova Scotia, Canada) under the supervision of Dr. Vasantha Rupasinghe. ÌýIt is also required to make occasional travel to the Faculty of Medicine at the main campus (Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada) for access to some facilities.

Period:Ìý1 Year Term, anticipated possible start date as early as November 1, 2020

Annual stipend: $40,000-41,000 CAD per year (plus benefits)
