мÓÆÂÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±Ö±²¥ is launching a new Minor in Entrepreneurship & Innovation (E&I).
The Minor in E&I is designed to provide undergraduate students with knowledge, skills and mindsets related to foundational concepts in entrepreneurship and innovation and the capacity to translate these outcomes to any future workplace.
The minor includes: i) experiential learning set of electives;Â and ii) an experiential capstone class that ensures that students who complete the minor have two experiential learning courses from which they can pursue valuable outcomes.
Who can take the Minor in E&I ?
Students currently enrolled in an undergraduate degree program from the Faculties of Agriculture, Arts and Social Sciences, Computer Science, and Science are eligible to declare the Minor.
How do I declare the Minor?
Beginning January 2020, students may declare the minor through
Course requirements: for the minor includes 3 core courses plus another 3 pre-approved elective courses:
Core Courses:
1.1 MGMT 2902: Innovation: an Introduction to Design Thinking ; offered in Halifax (Fall and Winter); Will be offered in Truro in Winter 2020;
1.2Â Â MGMT 3907/COMM 3307: New Venture Creation; Offered in Halifax (Fall and Winter); Will be offered in Truro in Fall 2020;
1.3ÌýÌý Capstone course: In development (more on that later). First offering will be Winter 2021 in Halifax. Considering a hybrid delivery that allows Truro students to remain in Truro for most weeks and be bused in occasionally
Elective Courses: The list of elective courses is divided into three clusters: i) Leadership; ii)Â In Context; and iii) Experiential. For the list of elective courses click here
Students are responsible for satisfying all pre-requisite requirements for electives. Students are not limited to elective courses offered by their home faculty. If you have the necessary pre-requisites or if the course has no pre-requisites then you can register and have it counted towards the Minor. Remember: courses that count towards your Minor cannot also count towards your Major.
