The Faculty of Agriculture, мÓÆÂÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±Ö±²¥ campus is located in Truro, Nova Scotia, Canada. Offering technical, undergraduate and graduate programs in agriculture, food, environment, and social science disciplines, the Faculty of Agriculture educates future leaders and generates knowledge and innovative solutions for healthy, sustainable societies.  This position will be located in the Department of Plant, Food, and Environmental Sciences of the Faculty of Agriculture, мÓÆÂÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±Ö±²¥ Agricultural Campus, Truro, Nova Scotia. The Department of Plant, Food, and Environmental Sciences offers a stimulating academic environment featuring a breadth of expertise, a strong applied research focus, and linkages across the university and beyond.


The Department of Plant, Food, and Environmental Sciences in the Faculty of Agriculture invites applications from qualified candidates for a limited term position in Landscape Architecture with teaching, international articulated programme coordination and service responsibilities with salary appropriate to qualifications and experience.

A minimum of a Master's degree in Landscape Architecture (MLA) from a recognized university, plus at least one year of teaching/professional experience in Landscape Architecture is required.  Applicants must have knowledge and experience in Landscape design, design process, construction and detailing, professional practice, and landscape studio and/or digital graphic communication. Evidence of teaching at the undergraduate level is desirable. A record of independent and/or collaborative projects, and a professional practice portfolio is required.  Eligibility for membership in the Canadian Society of Landscape Architects is required.

Demonstrated excellence and strong passion in teaching in a multi-cultural, multi-national environment, with strong leadership skills, interpersonal skills, and an ability to work in co-operation with a number of university-, government-, and industry- groups are desirable assets. The individual must be highly motivated with sound judgement, professionalism, integrity, collegiality, resourcefulness, innovation, self-motivation, excellent communication skills and strong organizational skills.

The successful applicant will teach distance, diploma, and degree courses in Environmental Horticulture and Landscape Architecture programmes within мÓÆÂÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±Ö±²¥ and at international universities where articulation agreements are in effect.  The successful applicant must be aware of all latest software applications relating to Landscape Design studio. They will be expected to supervise undergraduate landscape studio/projects. The incumbent will also act in the role of a coordinator for an international articulation programme (40% of the position’s duties are service-oriented to the university). The successful applicant is expected to build strong connections with the Canadian and regional landscape architects associations and landscape industries through teaching and outreach activities. The applicant must have a strong commitment to teaching and service to the university.
