The Campus Construction Update is a regular feature of the Weekly E-Bulletin in an effort to keep the campus community informed of any potential distruptions to regular work practices during summer construction.
Week of June 12th – 23rd
Interior
Piping installation to continue in LANGILLE, HALEY and JENKINS HALL Buildings. (Chance of minor noise with this work)
Hot Water will be shut down in LANGILLE Tuesday (13th) and in JENKINS Wednesday (14th).
=Civil work for concrete pads in CHUTE, BOULDING, RUMINANT, LANGILLE, HALEY and JENKINS HALL Buildings.
Electrical work to begin throughout buildings for equipment mounting and conduit runs. CHUTE, BOULDING, RUMINANT, LANGILLE, HALEY, JENKINS HALL, HANCOCK and EXTENSION ENGINEERING Buildings. (Chance of minor noise with this work, hammer drilling, etc.)
Piping installs and demolition to start in HANCOCK and EXTENSION ENGINEERING. (Chance of minor noise with this work. Note heating will be shut off in these buildings)
Piping in DAIRY building in women’s washroom and over adjacent offices/storage to start. This work will include core drilling through part of the wall and floor in the women’s washroom. (Expect disruption with some of this work).
Work in RUMINANT to relocate oil tank and electric DHW tank. (Domestic Hot Water will be shut down for ½ day for this work)
Exterior
Pour Concrete Walls at South Entrance to Engineering Building
Restoration of Landscaping around Engineering Plant, Behind Haley Building, Along River Road,
Poultry Building and in Boulden RAC and Chute Buildings ongoing.
There will be Traffic Control in place for this work.
Grade and Pave Driveway at Hancock Building
Set up Traffic Control for Area between Cummins Building and Jenkins Building.
Restore Landscaping between Cummins and Jenkins Building
Restore Landscaping from Engineering Building to Dairy Building.
Restore Asphalt walkway behind Dairy Building.
Restore Asphalt area behind Cummins Building.
Clean up the areas disturbed from Engineering Building to Jenkins Hall.
Set up Traffic Control between Langille Athletic Center and Cox Institute (New)
 Core through walls at Langille Athletic Center and Cox Institute (New).
Excavate for pipe from Langille Center to Cox Institute.
Start installing pipe. This will include welding in the area.
Excavate for Pipe at Cox Institute (New).
Fence installation from Extension Engineering to Hancock, front and back of building for new building construction. Road now closed west of Hancock.
