Students are more academically successful when they know what they are expected to learn and understand how they will be assessed.聽
This workshop will follow the process of developing learning objectives and appropriate assessment practices to optimize student/teacher expectations and success. The use of learning objective 鈥榣anguage鈥, and appropriate assessment and feedback techniques will be presented in this interactive workshop. Participants are requested to bring to the session a syllabus and an assignment currently used in their course.
This workshop will help you:
Clarify expectations regarding course assessment for teachers and learners
Increase the likelihood of student success
Make appropriate assessment choices based on course objectives
Provide appropriate feedback to students aimed at improving performance for participants to take part in a SoTL workshop will be included in this session.聽 Participants will have the opportunity to develop an innovative teaching idea using the step-by-step 鈥楽oTL guidebook鈥.

Our current social and educational environment demands new and innovative learning experiences for students that are based on evidenced-based practice and institutional goals.聽 However, implementing an evidenced-based approach to teaching and learning requires more than just a 鈥榞reat idea鈥. This approach sometimes referred to, as the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL), will be discussed. The CLT offers a multi-tier approach to provide funding for teachers to develop SoTL projects. Innovative approaches and opportunities will be presented.
