鈥淚nnovation: A Practical Approach to Concepts and Implementation鈥

Ever wondered how the best innovators move from a creative idea to the implementation of that idea?

We are pleased to let you know that registration is now open for a new, experiential, elective course in innovation being offered this winter (SPEC4007). The course is interdisciplinary and students will learn within a creative, team-based environment, how to employ their unique perceptions and skills in order to develop ideas and cultivate innovation.

Students will work through the process of coming up with novel and useful ideas.听 They will develop and critically evaluate those ideas and learn how such ideas can result in concrete outcomes 鈥 new products, new designs and new methodologies. Students will learn methods and processes designed to help identify opportunities and will develop skills that enable them to translate theory into practice.

Course activities are highly interactive and the class will rely heavily on team exercises aimed at fostering innovation.

This course is targeted for students in their third year of study (20 credit hours) or higher and is open to all disciplines. Previous courses in environmental studies, computer science, design theory, or innovation are not required.
