New Face on Campus

Posted by Stephanie Rogers on July 12, 2013 in News

Cathrine comes to the Faculty of Agriculture with extensive experience in fund development and non-profit leadership.听 Most recently community members may remember her for her work as Executive Director for the Colchester East Hants Hospice Society for the last 4 1/2 years.听 Cathrine lives in the small village of Maitland and is a passionate advocate for rural Nova Scotia and small schools.听 Cathrine dedicates her spare time to numerous community organizations, serving as a member of the Regional Health Authority Board and as President of the Nova Scotia Hospice Palliative Care Association.听

Originally from the West, Cathrine moved to Nova Scotia with her young family to 鈥渓ive the dream鈥.听 They found it in Maitland where they own a waterfront bed and breakfast. Having married an Old Barns Yuill, Cathrine never tires of hearing the question everyone seems to ask: 鈥渨ho鈥檚 his father?鈥 In case you are wondering, Cathrine married Warren Yuill, whose father is Ken Yuill, brother of the late Ralph Yuill whose wife Donna Yuill still lives on the family farm.听 Warren鈥檚 grandfather was Seymour Yuill. 听The family farm is still a landmark in Old Barns and evokes many wonderful childhood stories.

Cathrine is looking forward to getting to know the Agricultural Campus over the coming months. 听鈥淭here is so much exciting work going on at this campus and the people I鈥檝e met are so passionate about their work.听 I can鈥檛 wait to get started on a major capital campaign to support the continued growth and development of the Faculty of Agriculture.鈥澨 Cathrine鈥檚 role is focused on preparing to lead a future capital campaign for this campus.听 The campaign will support the campus vision of the new Dean which will unfold in the year ahead.听
